Coming into last weekend, there were no consensus 5-star athletes in the state of Alabama, and most services didn’t have any at 5-stars either. However, after some of the top in-state players made their presence known in multiple All-American games over the last few weeks, three of them have been elevated to 5-stars according to 247Sports.

The highest ranked player is James Clemens DE LaBryan Ray. He ranks as 247’s 15th overall recruit in their final rankings. Alabama is considered the favorite right now for Ray, but Tennessee is a contender as well. He still has to visit Tuscaloosa and the University of Florida down in Gainesville before signing day. He rises to #15 from #46 previously.

Coming in at #18 overall is Auburn linebacker recruit Tadarian Moultry from Jackson-Olin. Moultry has been playing really well in his all-star appearances and he’s one of the most violent players in this defensive class. A great pass rusher and big hit machine, Moultry was #50, but is now a top 20 player along with Ray. It also makes him the top rated recruit for the 2017 class at Auburn.

Coming in at #24 is WR Henry Ruggs III from Lee-Montgomery. Ruggs is undecided, but Alabama seems to be the favorite with Florida State close behind. Ruggs moves from #55 overall, and many people had him below Nico Collins from Clay-Chalkville. 247Sports has him as the third recruit in the state and top WR recruit. He is also a standout returner as well, with a great opening kickoff return for a touchdown in the Alabama-Mississippi game, and also had a standout game in the Army All-American Bowl.

Some other notable players on 247Sports’ final 5-star list include:

#3 – OT Alex Leatherwood (Washington (FL), enrolled at Alabama)

#9 – RB Najee Harris (Antioch (CA), enrolled at Alabama)

#22 – DUAL QB Tua Tagovailoa (St. Louis (HI), enrolled at Alabama)

#25 – OT Calvin Ashley (St. John’s College (DC), committed to Auburn)

#29 – WR Devonta Smith (Amite (LA), undecided but considering Alabama)

#30 – DT Aubrey Solomon (Lee County (GA), undecided but leaning Alabama)

#32 – OLB Dylan Moses (IMG Academy, enrolled at Alabama)
