New Brockton forfeits win for violating rules

New Brockton has been forced to forfeit their first win this season against Georgiana for violating AHSAA eligibility rules. The Gamecocks have been fined, placed on probation for one year, and ordered to forfeit that one varsity game.

New Brockton self-reported the violation of the “transfer rule” where they played an ineligible student.

The Gamecocks defeated Georgiana 34-20 in week one, and were sitting at 2-1. Now they have a 1-2 record after also losing to #3 Elba in week two, and defeating Zion Chapel last week 41-0.

If New Brockton violates any other rules, further sanctions could be brought against the school.
