After coming off a state championship last year, McGill-Toolen showed they are still the favorites coming into this season, as they took down the competition to win the Alabama Football Coaches Association USA Football 7-on-7 championship for class 6A/7A.

Just like Wenonah before them, the Yellow Jackets lost their first game of the day, then came back to beat the same team in the finals. Hoover-A finished second, while Thompson and Ramsay finished top four.

McGill-Toolen finished 4-1 in group play in a 4-way tie for first in their pool with Hoover-A, Park Crossing, and Ramsay. Then they won four straight to claim the title.
