After a grinding 32 minutes couldn’t decide it, Geneva County and Fyffe settled things with extra basketball.

In the end, it was TaMyya Hilliard’s steal and score with four seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game and Karoline Striplin’s four points in overtime that kept Geneva County’s hopes of a first state basketball title alive as the Lady Dawgs defeated Fyffe 41-35.

Striplin led the way for Geneva County with 17 points and 15 rebounds while Hilliard contributed her own double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. For the Red Devils, Libby Whitten put in 15 points, going 3-for-9 behind the arc. Brooklyn Dutton grabbed 18 rebounds for Fyffe.

Geneva County heads to Friday morning’s 9 AM tip-off with Tanner for the 2A Girls state basketball title.
