Garrison Brooks, the 4-star forward from Auburn High School, originally had signed with Mississippi State once his Auburn playing days were over. The 6-9, 215 lbs. 7A Player of the Year finalist chose the Bulldogs over many other power five schools that had offered him.
However, on March 31, Brooks requested a release from his letter of intent with Mississippi State according to Garrett Tucker of HoopSeen.
Today, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello is reporting that Garrison Brooks has been denied his release from Mississippi State.

Brooks had offers from many top schools around the southeast including North Carolina, Auburn and Georgia – all of which he took an official visit to. He also had offers from Alabama, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, LSU, Memphis, UAB, Vanderbilt and others. He averaged 14 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season and was expected to be the Bulldogs’ second biggest recruit behind 4-star PG Nick Weatherspoon out of Velma Jackson High School in Camden, MS.
