Eight boys and four girls from the AHSAA Final Four have been selected to the Alabama All-Star team for the 27th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star games.
Among those 12 players aforementioned are Alabama commit Herb Jones (Hale County), Mississppi State commit Garrison Brooks (Auburn), and three-star point guard DJ Heath (Sacred Heart) for the boys as well as Wenonah forward Alexus Dye and guard Jayla Morrow and Nicole Shirley of Deshler.
Other notables making the boys squad include Alabama commit Alex Reese (Pelham), DeAndre Robinson (Monroe County), Myles Parker (Madison Academy), and Jamal Johnson (Spain Park). For the girls, Auburn commit Unique Thompson (Faith Academy) and South Carolina commits Bianca Jackson (Brewbaker Tech) and Haley Troup (Gadsden City) will be part of the roster.
Midfield’s Darrell Barber will head up the boys team with Lanett’s Richard Carter as his assistant. Wenonah legend Emanuel Bell leads the girls unit with Locust Fork’s Barbara Roy named assistant.
Absent from the boys list is Alabama commit John Petty of Mae Jemison. Petty will be participating in national all-star games for both his opportunities.
The games will be played in Montgomery on March 17 at Dunn-Oliver Acadome on the campus on Alabama State. The girls will tip at 5 PM and the boys will be at 7 PM.
