Week 7 saw some upsets and some region titles get locked in across all classifications. We now have a better idea of how the regions will finish out in each classification. Many teams have locked up a playoff spot at the very least.

We take a look at how we feel the brackets could play out with only a few weeks left in region play. Below is the bracket as we see it here at JoxPreps. This is nothing more than us looking at the numbers so far and projecting where teams could finish. These current placings are a mix of current standings, projections and our opinion – none of this is set in stone yet. As we near the end of the season, teams will begin to lock up playoff spots, and we will make sure to note when that happens.

With each team listed in the bracket, we have given a confidence grade. This shows how confident we are that a team will finish in a certain spot. A “HIGH” grade means that we feel they will almost assuredly finish in that spot. A “MEDIUM” grade means that we feel that the team will most likely finish somewhere around where we have them listed, maybe a spot or two off depending on future results. A “LOW” grade means that things are still way up in the air and this is only an opinion from us, but there is a lot that still has to play out.

Here is the JoxPreps bracketology for Class 6A as of right now:

* – Teams marked in red are locked into that position

Confidence

LOCKED = Locked into that position no matter what
HIGH = Most likely will finish where they are
MEDIUM = Most likely will finish within a spot or two of where our projections have them
LOW = May be in good position now, but things could drastically change with just one or two results

Region 1

1. SaralandMEDIUM
2. Spanish FortMEDIUM
3. St. Paul’sMEDIUM
4. BlountMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Daphne

This one will come down to Saraland and Spanish Fort. They are both in a good position but Saraland is trending up to the top in our projections. The winner wins the region most likely with the loser in second. Daphne could still win out and get up into the top 4, but it’s not likely. St. Paul’s has the tiebreaker over Blount.

Region 2

1. Sidney LanierHIGH
2. Carver-MontgomeryMEDIUM
3. Park CrossingMEDIUM
4. EufaulaMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Northview

Lanier got a big win this past week over Carver-Montgomery to put themselves in a good position atop the region. They are technically tied to Carver and Park Crossing but have beaten them both already. Park Crossing and Carver will play for a home game in the first round, while Eufaula has the tiebreaker over Northview so they only need one more win to be in.

Region 3

1. Stanhope ElmoreMEDIUM
2. WetumpkaMEDIUM
3. OpelikaMEDIUM
4. Benjamin RussellMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Calera

Stanhope remains atop the region but have Opelika still to go this week. If Opelika wins that game, it could cause a 3-way tie at the top which would then make it go to non-region games. Benjamin Russell will face Calera this week to determine fourth place.

Region 4

1. McAdoryHIGH
2. HueytownHIGH
3. Paul BryantMEDIUM
4. NorthridgeMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa, Bessemer City

McAdory and Hueytown play this week to determine the region champ. Even if the winner of the game loses the next week, they will still win on tiebreakers because everyone else has at least two losses. Paul Bryant needs to beat Hillcrest to ensure a playoff spot, and Bessemer City and Northridge still have to play to determine the final spot.

Region 5

1. Jackson-OlinHIGH
2. HomewoodHIGH
3. MinorMEDIUM
4. PelhamMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Helena

Jackson-Olin and Homewood face off on 10/26 for the region title. The winner of that game wins the top seed regardless. Pelham and Helena play for the fourth spot on 10/26 as well. Minor only needs to win one of their next two to be the third seed.

Region 6

1. Pinson ValleyLOCKED
2. OxfordHIGH
3. Clay-ChalkvilleHIGH
4. GardendaleMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Shades Valley

Pinson Valley is locked in as region champion. Oxford and Clay play this week to determine the second seed with the loser falling to at least third. Gardendale and Shades Valley play this week – winner is in, loser is out. If Gardendale wins, they will have the chance to play Oxford for a higher seed next week.

Region 7

1. HartselleLOCKED
2. AthensMEDIUM
3. Muscle ShoalsMEDIUM
4. DecaturHIGH

Others that could grab a spot: Cullman

Hartselle is region champion. Athens and Muscle Shoals will play this week for second place with the loser falling to third. The only way Cullman can make it is if Decatur loses to 0-7 Columbia and Cullman defeats region champ Hartselle.

Region 8

1. Hazel GreenHIGH
2. Fort PayneHIGH
3. AlbertvilleMEDIUM
4. Lee-HuntsvilleMEDIUM

Others that could grab a spot: Mae Jemison

Hazel Green and Fort Payne play this week for the region title. Loser falls to second. Albertville takes on Mae Jemison and a win for Albertville locks them into third while eliminating Mae Jemison. If Jemison wins, then they need Lee-Huntsville to fall to Buckhorn who hasn’t won a region game yet.
